Tech. Sgt. Dennis R. Jones recently was decorated with the Air Force Commendation Medal. He is the son of Betty Jones of Lecanto.

Spec. Aaron A. Weaver recently graduated from the 58-day Ranger course at the Infantry School, Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. He is the son of Michael Weaver of Floral City and Kelly Weaver of Homosassa, and a 1989 graduate of Citrus High School.

Sgt. Jesse Mitchell recently was decorated with the Army Achievement medal, which is awarded to soldiers for meritorious service, acts of courage or other outstanding accomplishments. He is the son of Vivian and Bert Mitchell of Homosassa Springs.

Navy Airman Recruit Jeffrey Alsup recently reported for duty with Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron-122, Naval Air Station, Norfolk, Va. He is the son of Jack and Nancy Alsup of Crystal River, and a 1991 graduate of Crystal River High School.

Navy Hospitalman Robert Gilmore recently reported for duty with Headquarter and Service Co., 3rd Medical Battalion, 3rd Force Service Support Group, Okinawa, Japan. He is the son of Alan Manlmstrom of Homosassa.

Navy Lt. Cmdr. William J. Mills recently deployed aboard the tank landing ship USS Tuscaloosa, which has its home port in San Diego, for six-months in the Western Pacific. He is the son of Thomas Hobbs of Dunnellon and a 1974 graduate of the University of Central Florida.

Air Force Tech. Sgt. Alan Poffenberger recently was decorated with the Meritorious Service Medal. His wife, Michele, is the daughter of Emily Strickland of Homosassa Springs.

Navy Airman Tom Jackson recently reported for duty aboard the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, which has its home port in Norfolk, Va. He is the son of Donald and Donna Manor of Homosassa, and a 1990 graduate of Lecanto High School.
