A 36-year-old Spring Hill man likely will never leave prison after being sentenced to three life terms for sexually abusing a young family member. A jury last week found the man, whose name is withheld to protect the victim's identity, guilty of 12 sex abuse charges. He molested an 11-year-old girl in several different Spring Hill homes. Authorities did not release the relationship between the man and the victim but said he abused her from the end of 1988 until spring 1991. Hernando County Circuit Judge Jack Springstead on Thursday sentenced the man to the three consecutive life terms for each of three counts of sexual battery, with a minimum prison term of 25 years for each charge. Springstead sentenced the man to 15 years in prison for each of nine lesser charges. Those 15-year terms run concurrent with the life terms.
