House candidate

Despite the uncertainty of reapportionment, lawyer Bill Sublette says he will run against state Rep. Bruce McEwan for the Republican nomination in the downtown Orlando district. "I am running because District 38 has been virtually unrepresented for the past 12 years," Sublette said in announcing for the seat Thursday. Sublette, 28, described himself as a "hard-line fiscal conservative" opposed to tax increases in any form. McEwan, 54, is in his sixth two-year term.
