Frances Savage had 30 points and 10 rebounds as No. 8 Miami beat Connecticut 75-59 Friday to win the Big East title in its first season in the conference.
Miami (23-1, 14-0) ousted Connecticut (18-8, 11-4), which had won three straight conference titles. The Hurricanes won their 23rd straight game.
After leading 30-22 at halftime, Miami was five-for-five from the floor and eight-for-eight from the foul line to lead 48-35 with 12:30 left. The closest the Huskies came thereafter was 53-42 with 12:30 left.
Coaches given medical clearance: Oklahoma State coach Eddie Sutton and Cincinnati coach Bob Huggins were released from hospitals on Friday after receiving treatment for chest pains.
Sutton checked into a Stillwater, Okla., hospital late Wednesday after the Cowboys' 70-67 loss to Oklahoma. He is expected to be on the bench for Sunday's game at Missouri.

19 Bearcats' last-minute 71-69 loss to DePaul on Thursday night. Huggins will coach Cincinnati today against South Alabama in Mobile.
