Vanderbilt choir to perform Sunday

The Vanderbilt University Concert Choir and Chamber Singers will perform during the 9:15 and 11 a.m. services March 1 at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. Sacred selections by Antonio Caldara, Ron Nelson, Harold Friedell and Eric Thiman will be presented within the context of traditional, Episcopal services.

The 40-voice group is composed of graduate and undergraduate students selected from the university's 80-voice choir. The Concert Choir is under the direction of Michael Hime, who has led the group the past 15 years. Mitchell Patton is accompanist. The Chamber Singers, a 15-member ensemble selected from the Concert Choir, present madrigal pieces ranging from the Renaissance to contemporary.

Vanderbilt is an independent, privately supported university founded in 1873 in Nashville, Tenn.

The public is welcome to attend the services at St. Andrew's, Marion at Madison streets, Tampa. For information, call 221-2035.

St. John Greek Orthodox

St. John Greek Orthodox Church's Tampa Greek Festival continues from 11 a.m. to midnight today at the Tampa Convention Center, 333 N Franklin St. Greek foods and pastries, crafts and jewelry will be available and continuous live music will be presented. The Levendia Dancers, Greek Folk Dancers, Odyssey Dance Group and Nea Genia Dancers are scheduled to perform. Admission is $2 per person; children under 15 are admitted free with an adult. St. John's Episcopal

Michael Kaminski, director of Music Ministries and Organist at St. Francis Xavier Church in Brooklyn, N.Y., will present an organ concert at 5 p.m. Sunday at St. John's Episcopal Church, 906 S Orleans Ave. Kaminski is also assistant organist at Our Lady of Angels Church in Brooklyn and is on the faculties of the Brooklyn Conservatory and the New York School of Liturgical Music. Unity Christ Church

"Roller Coaster _ Learning to Deal with Life's Highs and Lows" is the topic to be discussed by the Rev. Gary Sosbee during the 11 a.m. service Sunday at Unity Christ Church. The church is at 710 Crenshaw Lake Road in Lutz. For information, call 949-0298.

First United Methodist, Seffner

A supper honoring the music department at First United Methodist Church of Seffner and welcoming new choir director Liz Hillman and new organist Mike Lock is at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the Fellowship Hall. Sloppy joes and homemade soup will be served; participants are asked to bring finger sandwiches or to make a donation toward the food being served.

The church's monthly hymn sing will take place in the sanctuary after dinner.

Faith Outreach Center

The healing team of evangelists Charles and Frances Hunter will minister at 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday at Faith Outreach Center,7311 Sheldon Road. The Hunters are authors of more than 30 books. For information, call 887-3354.

Nativity Catholic

"A Roaring '20s Evening of Fun, Vegas Style" will be presented from 7 to 11 p.m. Feb. 29 in the social hall at the Church of the Nativity, 705 E Brandon Blvd. The event will include casino-style games, a demonstration of "tricks of the trade" by card shark Robert Bengel between 7 and 7:30 p.m., a silent auction, food and drinks.

Tickets, $13 in advance or $15 at the door, are available after Sunday Masses at the church or at the Ave Marie Bookstore, 815 Brandon Blvd.

Parenting workshop

A parenting workshop sponsored by the Diocese of St. Petersburg will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 29 at Tampa Catholic High School. Child care will be available for children 6 months through 12 years old. Participants should bring lunch for the entire family; coffee, soda, juices and snacks will be provided. The cost is $7.50 for adults and $3 for children, and the registration deadline is Tuesday. For information, call the Diocesan Office of Religious Education, 221-0360.

Northdale Community
