Gnome sculptor to visit

Calling all collectors! If your "thing" is the gnome figurines produced by sculptor Thomas Clark, your day is Feb. 29. Clark will be at the Pinellas Square Mall from noon to 4 p.m. signing his work and talking to fans. His visit is being sponsored by six collectibles stores in the Tampa Bay area. Clark is a former professor of religious art at Davidson College in Davidson, N.C. He has been sculpting since 1978 from his studio in Cairn, N.C.

Time to take stock

Here's something you know you should do yet keep putting off. We're talking about that household inventory you'll need if, heaven forbid, you become the victim of a fire, flood or robbery. Future is in the cards

Parents, would your child recognize a proboscis monkey if she saw one? Would you? Better hurry because the shy monkey, a native of the forests and mangrove swamps of Borneo, is in danger of vanishing off the face of our planet. If you'd like your children to share in the growing concern for endangered animals, look for a new series of trading cards by Mundus Amicus Co. that will be available in March at toy and collectibles card stores, zoo gift shops and through environmental catalogs. The Environmental Action Cards, Endangered Animal Series features 50 endangered animals and ecosystems and will sell in packs of nine at a suggested retail price of 99 cents.

The Suncoast Chapter of CAI (Communities Associations Institute) will offer a program of seminars on the 1991 amendments to the condominium law and other legal aspects of association living for directors, unit owners and those in homeowner associations from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at the Sheraton Sand Key, 1160 Gulf Blvd., Clearwater Beach.
