After a day and night of steady rain muddied the field and kept away all but the most die-hard fans, the Jesuit Tigers soaked host Lakewood 61-0 in a Class 3A, District 11 mismatch. Morris Harris scored five touchdowns and ran for 157 yards while the Tiger defense took advantage of numerous Lakewood errors.
The loss marked Lakewood's fourth straight defeat. It is 0-2 in the district, and have given up 181 points while scoring just one touchdown. The Tigers moved to 3-1 (2-0).
Jesuit's defense dominated in the first half, holding Lakewood to zero net yards in the first two quarters. Harris took charge early, racking up 47 yards on his team's opening drive to put the Tigers up 7-0 early in the first quarter. On the ensuing kickoff, Kevin Cleveland fumbled the ball on his own 25. Two plays later Harris broke across the goal line from 20 yards out and Jesuit never looked back.
