Baking soda cleans up in the kitchen and bath

Baking soda is one of the handiest products for cleaning the kitchen and bath. As a derivative of a naturally occurring mineral, it's also environmentally sound.

Here are some things you clean with it, and how:

To clean a microwave oven, stainless-steel sink, refrigerator, cutting board, fiberglass tub or shower and bathroom tile: Sprinkle soda on a damp sponge, scrub and rinse.

To deodorize the dishwasher: Sprinkle soda on the bottom of the appliance between loads.

To clean the coffee pot and teapot: Wash in a solution of one-fourth cup soda in 1 quart warm water.

To remove tarnish from silver: With a damp sponge, apply a paste of 1{ tablespoons water and \ cup soda. Rinse and buff dry.
