Casino Night to feature best costumes contest

"Machine Gun Louie's Casino Night" will be a recreation of a night during the "Roaring Twenties" presented by the alumni of Leadership Brandon at 7 p.m. Oct. 24. The evening will feature prizes for the best costume, the best gang and the best "moll."

The $10 cost will include a beverage and $1,000 in chips to use at the casino tables.

The event will be at the Brandon Rental Hall, in the Oak Park Plaza on Lumsden Road, behind Roosters.

Table sponsorships are available on a first-come first-served basis. The $100 sponsorship includes tickets for two, table signs and audio promotions during the event.

Proceeds will benefit Leadership Brandon, an organization made up of a group of business people who attend seminars and workshops designed to help them become community leaders.

New officers are Erika Young, president; John Gardner, president-elect; Dolores Slowey, secretary; and Earl Moore, treasurer. Directors are Tom Denham, Don Pate, Jim Taylor, Dan Pilka, Pam Morse and Sherry Lynch.

Sorority preparing for festival

Members of the Kappa Kappa Chapter of the Kappa Delta Phi Sorority are busy getting ready for their 18th annual Brandon Arts and Crafts Festival. The show is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 21 and Nov. 22 on the grounds of the Sun Bank, 403 W Brandon Blvd., Brandon.
