In other news from the center, volunteer Elizabeth Jeffress was cited in the center's October newsletter for her volunteer work as the director for the center's band, Joyful Noise. The band has performed 148 times for retirement communities, health care centers and, of course, the center.

Members of the band include Bill Alboth, Roy Ballard, Sue Conley, Harris Dean, Irene Lewis, Bess Maney, Maggie Mitchell, Tom Mosier, Shirley Naymik, Paul O'Dell, Mary Lou Peterson and Helen Zachariasen.

Joyful Noise will perform at the center's fall dinner Oct. 24 at the center, 9704 N Boulevard.

Sponsored by the Senior Advisory Council, the dinner will include baked ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans, salad, dessert and beverages.

Tickets are $5.
