Great Western Credit Corp., Clearwater, has announced the following appointments:

James Broome was named executive vice president. Broome was a management consultant at Chemical Bank in New York and Bank of America of California.

Tom Williams was named director of finance. Williams previously worked at Smith & Barney.

Van Sayler was named manager of the fixed income department at Raymond James and Associates Inc., St. Petersburg. Sayler, a senior vice president with the company, served as assistant manager of the department and also managed the public finance department. He joined the firm in August 1986.


E. Roma Gibb was named director of quality management for Tampa General Hospital. Gibb was director of quality support services at Vanderbilt University Medical Center for 11 years. She was a member of the American Hospital Association's Task Force on Quality, served on several committees of the National Association for Health Care Quality and was a member of the American Society for Quality Control Health Care Division.


Russ Munch was named director of managed care for National Insurance Services Inc., Tampa. Munch recently was with PARTNERS/Aetna, the managed care division of Aetna Health Plans of Florida Inc.


M. Kenneth Owens was named director of travel trade marketing for The Moorings, a yacht chartering company with corporate offices in Clearwater and Paris. Owens formerly was employed by Radisson Hotels, Princess Cruises and Sitmar.


WTSP-Ch. 10 has announced the following appointments:

Barbara Sobocinski was named vice president of marketing and public affairs. Sobocinski joined the station in July 1988 as promotion manager and also served as director of promotions and programing. She came from KGW-TV, Portland, Ore., where she served as director of marketing and advertising.

Noreen Parker was named vice president of sales. Parker joined the station in April as general sales manager. Previously, she was local sales manager for a station in High Point, N.C.

WTVT-Ch. 13 has announced the following appointments:

Karen King was named co-anchor of 13 Eyewitness News This Morning. Previously, King was anchor at 6 and 11 p.m. at KRBK-TV, Sacramento, Calif.

Trina Robinson was named anchor for Eyewitness News Overnight Weekend and general assignment reporter. She was noon anchor and reporter at WBBH-Ch. 20, Fort Myers.
