Mission honors Tampa pastors

The Executive Committee of the Caribbean World Missions recently selected eight pastors and their churches as 1992 Pastors and Churches of the Year, according to CWM executive director Dr. C.

C. Carlman.

Pastors and churches from Tampa werethe Rev. Bartholomew Banks of St. John Progressive M.B. Church; the Rev. James D. Sykes of St. James A.M.E. Church; the Rev. Earl J. Williams of New Progress M.B. Church; and the Rev. Thomas Scott of 34th Street Church of God.

Pastors from other areas were Elder Carl Rhodes of New Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church and Elder C.

L. Warren Jr. of Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church in St. Petersburg; the Rev. Preston Daymon of Mount Hermon Baptist Church in Fort Myers; and the Rev. Dr. Wilbert Hawkins of Tabernacle M.B. Church in Orlando.

The pastors and their respective churches will be honored at the 27th Anniversary Musical Rally on Nov. 20 at the Albright United Methodist Church in St. Petersburg.

The Rev. Russell I. Bean is the host pastor for the event.
