Despite its dramatic 19-16 victory over Florida State, second-ranked Miami failed to gain much ground on No. 1 Washington in this week's Associated Press poll.
Washington, which took over the top spot last week, received 42 first-place votes and 1,528 points after beating USC 17-10. Miami got 16 first-place votes and 1,497 points. That means Washington lost two first-place votes and UM gained four from last week.
FSU dropped five spots, to No. 8. Florida, meanwhile, dropped 10 spots, to No. 23, after Thursday's loss to Mississippi State.
California moved into the poll at No. 24.
