Jury selection began Monday in the Pasco trial of convicted murderer Oscar Ray Bolin Jr. Bolin, who was sentenced to death twice last year for the murders of two women in Hillsborough County, is charged with the 1986 killing of Land O'Lakes resident Teri Lynn Matthews. Circuit Court Judge Stanley R. Mills is presiding over the trial. The selection process was delayed for a few hours because the wrong jury pool was brought into the courtroom. Once the problem was corrected, prosecutors and Bolin's attorneys questioned the jury candidates about their opinions of murder and the death penalty. By 6 p.m., nine of 13 jurors _ 12 regulars and one alternate _ had been chosen. The process is set to continue at 9:30 this morning.
