Catholic church moves services

Because of damage to the church in last Saturday's tornado, St. Frances Cabrini Parish will conduct worship services in the cafeteria at Springstead High School on Mariner Boulevard for the next three to four weeks. The hours are Saturday, 4 and 6 p.m.; Sunday, 7:30, 9 and 11 a.m. Daily Mass will be at 8 a.m. at Mariner United Methodist Church, 7079 Mariner Blvd. Support groups will have classes at their regularly scheduled days and times at the church, 5030 Mariner Blvd. For information, call 683-9666.

Board to review election protest

BROOKSVILLE _ A public meeting of the Canvassing Board of Hernando County will be at 5 p.m. today in Room 463, 20 N Main St., the office of Elections Supervisor Ann Mau. The purpose of the meeting is to review a protest of the Oct. 1 second primary election returns, filed by Henry Ledbetter. Ledbetter was a Republican candidate in the runoff election for supervisor of elections. For information, call 754-4125.

Scholarship aids older students

BROOKSVILLE _ Elks Lodge 2582 will participate in the Elks national Vocational/Technical Scholarship Contest. Recipients will receive a $1,000 scholarship for the school year beginning August 1993 and also for the school year beginning August 1994. The program is to assist older students who want more training or education in their field. Students in the class of '93 may apply. A high school diploma or high school equivalency certificate is not required. The deadline for applications is Nov. 25. For information, call Warren Schlemmer at 596-3955.
