Comedian Cole to perform

Comedian Happy Cole will tell his jokes during the "Jokes Under the Oaks II" event at 6 p.m. Oct. 17 at the Woodmont Clubhouse.

Cole is a 1979 graduate of King High School and a Tampa resident. He recently has received national exposure on cable TV shows on VH-1 and the A&E Network and shows such as Evening at the Improv.

The event will be sponsored by the Temple Terrace Service League. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Judeo-Christian Clinic, The Centre for Women, the Temple Terrace Public Library and Alpha House.

Food will be provided by area restaurants and door prizes will be awarded.

Tickets are $15 and are being sold by club members. To purchase a ticket or obtain information, call Glenda Venable at 988-3951.

Chamber music concert planned

The Temple Terrace Presbyterian Church, 420 Bullard Parkway, will present a chamber music concert by Camerata at 4 p.m. Sunday.

Camerata is composed of a violin, a viola, a cello and a guitar playing chamber music of the Baroque and Classical periods. The musicians, members of the Florida Orchestra, are Evelyn Moore, violin; Kathie Aagaard, viola; Zsuzsanna Varosy, cello, and Richard Long, guitar. They will be joined by guest artists Kay Borkowski on flute and Linda Gaines on violin.

Admission is free, but a donation will be collected for Metropolitan Ministries. Light refreshments will be served after the concert.
