The Seventh Annual Hispanic Woman's Award Luncheon will be at noon Friday at the Holiday Inn-Ashley Plaza in downtown Tampa. The cost of the luncheon is $15 a person.
The speaker will be Maria Celeste Arraras from Univision, and the moderator will be Kelly Ring of WTVT-Ch. 13.
Awards will be given to Hispanic women excelling in the following categories: arts, business, community involvement, education, government and media/public relations. The Hispanic Woman of the Year and the Amiga awards also will be presented at the luncheon.

Unexpected rain didn't prevent the Tampa Hispanic Heritage Inc. Kick-Off Celebration on Saturday at the Kash n' Karry in Fiesta Plaza at Armenia Avenue and Tampa Bay Boulevard.
Members of the board of directors of Hispanic Heritage were on hand to help distribute schedules and posters commemorating the Hispanic Heritage celebration that had been signed by the artist, Beth Lewis-Wilson. The second-place winner in the poster contest was Shelly Haddox of Seffner, and Gloria Escobar of Tampa won third place.
Hundreds of spectators watched performances by various folkloric dance groups from Panama, Peru, Colombia and Mexico.
Mexican charro Pedro Perez performed rope tricks.
The Cuban Cultural Celebration, sponsored by La Union Marti-Maceo, which was scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, has been canceled.
