Veterans who have lost military documents may be able to get those items replaced thorught the Department of Veterans Affairs REgional Office by calling (800) 827-2204. This includes discharge certificates and reports of separtation from active military service (DD Form 214). If VA records contain a copy of the missing document, a copy will be mailed to the veteran. If the requested document can't be located, notification will be sent. The process usually takes three to five days.
