Nancy Weaver will head Project Cheer

Nancy J. Weaver, senior vice president of Fortune Bank, has accepted the chairmanship of Project Cheer, a program that provides holiday gifts to psychiatric clients from Pinellas County.

Project Cheer is sponsored by the Mental Health Association, which works to assure that each client in psychiatric residential treatment _ especially state hospitals _ receive a gift from their community at Christmas.

When possible, the association also provides gifts to the most handicapped clients in day treatment in the community centers _ more than 2,000 in all.

Ms. Weaver has served two terms as president of the Mental Health Association board and has continued to be a member.

Project Cheer has served as many as 1,500 clients in a year, and has been in existence since 1969, said Betty Moore, the association's office manager.

Individuals, clubs and organizations interested in contributing to the project can call Ms. Moore at 530-0496.

Sertoma chapter installs officers

The Clearwater Breakfast Sertoma Club installed new officers and celebrated its 25th anniversary during ceremonies at Cove Cay Country Club.

Robert Godfrey was installed as president of the Clearwater club by Sertoma International president John Tragon III.

Robert Insalaco was installed as vice president of finance; Mark Smith, vice president of membership; and Charles Lykes, vice president of sponsorship.

John Conover is secretary; Stanley B. Ashbrook, treasurer; and Stu Johnson, sergeant at arms.

Directors are Peter Carlson, Joe Spenard, Sam DeLeo, Jay Myers, Richard Steele and H. Kirkbride.

Partners N Progress elects officer

K.C. Paganini, president of Paganini Financial Planning and Accounting, has joined the board of directors of the Largo Partners N Progress, an organization working toward the realization of a new Central Park in Largo.

Paganini has a bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of Florida and recently participated in a program for technical managers in the School of Business Administration at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

Judy Dean, director of marketing for HCA Medical Center, has been elected president of Partners N Progress. Reed Adcock, Largo district manager for Florida Power Corp., and Joanne Lighter, president of the Lighter Co., are vice presidents; Ron Willet of Willett and Cantor is treasurer; and Cindy Hoppes, general manager of the Largo Mall, is secretary.

Couple celebrates anniversary

Wilbur and Eleanor Brown of Largo recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a dinner at Eugen's Restaurant in Belleair Bluffs.

The Browns were married Oct. 1, 1942, at the First Methodist Church in Odon, Ind. They came to this area in 1971 from Urbana, Ill. Before retiring, he worked for Norris and Samon Pump Service in St. Petersburg, and she worked for Maas Brothers department store in Clearwater.

They have a son who lives in Tampa and a granddaughter who lives in Urbana.
