University Women plan month full of activities

The Suncoast/Carrollwood Branch of the American Association of University Women will meet at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at University Village, 12401 N 22nd St.

"Convention Highlights" is the program for the meeting, and members of all American Association of University Women branches and prospective members and guests are invited.

Other branch activities this month include "Creative Arts" on Monday hosted by Barbara MacKinnon; bridge at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, hosted by Betty Raich; bridge at 10 a.m. Oct. 20 hosted by Marion Fogel; the Book Discussion Group Oct. 22 at Alyce Lanier's; and the Travel Group Oct. 31 at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center.

The American Association of University Women is open to all graduates who hold a bachelor's or higher degree from an accredited college or university. The association's stated purpose is "the promotion of equity for women, education and self-development over the life span and positive societal change."

Claywell PTA to meet Tuesday

The Claywell Elementary School PTA will have its general meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the school cafeteria, 4500 Northdale Blvd. The agenda includes the 1992-93 PTA budget, the School Improvement Team and the new student reporting system. Those attending the meeting should bring their PTA membership card to vote and enter a free drawing.

The school recently announced the members of its School Improvement Team: Glenda Midili, principal; Donna Fischbach, assistant principal; teachers Holly Salmon, Gerri Chapman, Chandra Tyson and Becky Zentmyer; Orchid Boatright, kindergarten aide; Deena Wasser, office staff; Robert Deen, business representative from Carrollwood Rotary; parents Chris Clark, Judy Rykowski and Belinda Miller; and grandparent Barbara Cummings.
