Fourth-grader wins fire safety contest

Jason Liebold, 9, a fourth-grader at Mildred Helms Elementary School, designed the winning poster in a contest sponsored by the Largo Fire Department and Patrick Media.

Jason's poster, selected from about 1,600 entries submitted from public and private schools within the Largo Fire District, was considered representative of this year's theme for Fire Prevention Week.

Jason's artistic interpretation of "Test Your Detector _ It's Sound Advice!" is to be displayed throughout the month on a billboard near East Bay and Fulton drives in Largo.

Jason is the son of Karen and Gary Liebold of Largo.
