The Job Service Employer Council is promoting October as National Disability Employment Awareness Month. As part of the salute, an open house will be held at the Crystal River Mall during the last week of October. The specific time and date are undecided. The event will give local business leaders the opportunity to promote employment of disabled workers and educate those interested in the availability of services and accommodations for the disabled. Businesses or groups that promote the employment of disabled workers, and provide services to employers or local disabled citizens, are invited to attend an open house planning meeting at 8 a.m. on Oct. 13 at Seven Rivers Community Hospital.
