DETROIT at MINNESOTA

7:30 p.m., TNT-c

1991 records: Detroit 1-4, Minnesota 4-1.

The line: Minnesota by 5{.

Game at a glance: The defending NFC Central champion Lions have dug themselves a deep hole at 1-4. Since the 1970 merger, only four teams have started that poorly and still qualified for the playoffs. The last team to pull it off? The 1983 Lions, who started 1-4 and finished 9-7 atop the Central. Detroit's only win this season came at home against the Vikings, 31-17, a month ago, but the Lions got two special-team touchdowns and one defensive score in that one. This time, the Vikings have the dome-field advantage. Tonight's game gets bumped up three days because TNT is smart enough not to take on Game 2 of the World Series.

Don Banks' pick: Minnesota 27-17.
