Who: Tampa Bay Lightning (2-1-1) vs. Toronto Maple Leafs (0-2-1).
When: Tonight at 7:35.
Where: Maple Leaf Gardens.
TV/Radio: WQYK-AM (1010).
Coaches: Tampa Bay _ Terry Crisp; Toronto _ Pat Burns.
Players to watch: Tampa Bay _ left wing Chris Kontos, left wing Mikael Andersson, center Rob DiMaio, defenseman Joe Reekie, goaltender _ Wendell Young. Toronto _ center Doug Gilmour, right wing Nikolai Borschevsky, left wing Wendel Clark, goaltender Grant Fuhr.
What to expect: The Maple Leafs have yet to win a game and will be hungry for a victory against an expansion team. New coach Pat Burns, criticized in Montreal for his defensive-minded teams, is trying to implement a high-paced game with the speedy Maple Leafs. He is still experimenting with different lines. Burns was unhappy with several of his young players' efforts in the Maple Leafs' first two games and benched right wing Rob Pearson, left wing Joe Sacco, left wing Kent Manderville and defenseman Dimitri Mironov Sunday at Edmonton. Pearson had a seizure (because of dehydration) in the plane ride back, but he's expected to play. The Maple Leafs have been struggling on the power play (3-of-22 with Gilmour getting two of the goals).
