Parks department invites input from Lutz residents

Published May 5, 1993|Updated Oct. 9, 2005

Lutz area residents can discuss improving neighborhood parks with county's parks and recreation department employees during a community meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Lutz Community Center, 128 Lutz-Lake Fern Road.

Parks department employees will address possible land acquisition for a neighborhood park in Lutz. This park will be purchased and built through the $20-million Park Bond program approved by voters in October.

This program was created to improve dozens of parks and recreational facilities in the unincorporated county. Program money will fund the construction of new ball fields, concession stands, restrooms, parking areas, playground equipment, recreation centers and additions to existing buildings.

Residents can make suggestions and hear plans for improving parks in their areas. For information, call the parks and recreation department at 975-2160.
