Harold Andrews, a driver and first-aid member with Team 4 of the Sun City Center Emergency Squad, was selected by squad officials as Volunteer of the Month for June. A volunteer since 1990, Andrews also helps the squad as a purchasing agent.
He and his wife, Barbara, have three children and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year. They are both active members in United Community Church of Sun City Center.
Andrews grew up in the Chicago area and graduated from Northwestern University with a bachelor's degree in engineering. He worked for Aluminum Co. of America for 40 years before retiring.
Hospital housekeeper honored
Carolyn Ketler was recognized as Employee of the Month for May by officials of South Bay Hospital in Sun City Center recently. She works as the executive housekeeper and with environmental services for the hospital.
She was given $100 in cash, complimentary lunch for a month, VIP parking, a certificate and a plant as parts of her award.
2 groups award scholarships
College scholarships were awarded by Sun City Center organizations to graduates of East Bay High School during special ceremonies recently.
Jamie DeBella received a $500 award from Americans of Italian Heritage of Sun City Center.
The American Association of University Women in Sun City Center divided $2,500 among East Bay students Rachel Steere and Desiree Sasko and Wimauma Elementary schoolteacher Sandra Spicer. Spicer will use her award while working on a post-graduate degree.
