Phillies pad lead to 4 1/2 with win

Clearwater 3, Port Charlotte 2: Rob Grable had two run-scoring singles to lead the host Phillies past the Rangers in a 10-inning game Saturday. The first-place Phillies moved 4{ games ahead of the Rangers in the West Division with seven games to play in the first half of the season. Clearwater needs any combination of four wins or four Charlotte losses for the first-half title. Grable took over the team lead in RBI with 39; Jon Zuber has 37. The Phillies tied the score at 2 in the bottom of the ninth on David Hayden's sacrifice fly after Chad McConnell stole third. Grable's single scored Phil Geisler from third in the 10th. Mark Randall (3-4) relieved in the ninth for the win.

Dunedin 4, Fort Myers 3: Rick Holifield went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs as the Blue Jays defeated the host Twins. Rich Butler had two doubles and Todd Steverson had a home run for the Blue Jays. John Singer pitched six innings for the win.
