Show to focus on interior design

A weekly television show devoted to interior design will debut at noon Aug. 8 on WTMV-Ch. 32.

The show, called It's a Beautiful Home, will be hosted by Tony Marsh, ASID, an interior designer with a studio in Largo. He will be the show's executive producer.

The half-hour program will have a three-part format, Marsh said. In the first segment, Marsh will lay the groundwork for design by explaining what is to be done and why. In the second segment, he will interview guest interior designers on location in a home the designer has worked on, where "the whys and hows and the you-can-toos are not only discussed but are shown to the home viewer," Marsh said in a news release. In the third segment Marsh will show new home products and furnishings.

The show's goal, Marsh said in the release, is to "get rid of the stigma that interior designers only work with unlimited budgets (or on) total jobs" or that the homeowner "will have little say on what's being done."

Marsh said the program will also show how "you can proceed on your own with our helpful "how to' hints, innovative advice and professional knowledge, all given by professional interior designers throughout the area."

Marsh is seeking projects to feature on the show. They can be in "almost any state, from pre-construction to finished new construction or remodeling," he said. Only professional projects will be considered, he said.

The architect, contractor and interior designer must be licensed in Florida, and he prefers that the designer be a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers. The program will concentrate at first on residential projects but may expand to commercial work later.

Anyone interested in having a project considered should send information about the home to TKM Productions, 1679 Indian Rocks Road, Largo 34644. Submissions may come from the homeowner, contractor, architect or interior designer.
