St. Petersburg City Manager Norman Hickey is one of five finalists vying for the county administrator post in Lee County, Hickey confirmed Saturday. "I was told earlier this week that I am a candidate," he said from his Daytona Beach home. Hickey's job was eliminated when voters changed the city's form of government. He is set to leave the city at the end of June. The Lee County position would pay $96,000. An advisory committee of Lee County residents and business owners will whittle the list of five to three Saturday, said Lee County Commissioner Ray Judah. Hickey said that if he is not a finalist, he will continue to pursue other opportunities.
