The Coast Guard cutter White Sumac will host a 50th anniversary celebration July 9 at The Pier in St. Petersburg. The cutter was commissioned in the Navy in 1943 and was stationed in the New York City area and later in Earle, N.J. The White Sumac is seeking anyone with letters, documents, photos or anecdotes of the cutter's history.
