PATENT AWARD GIVEN: Rebecca Fernandez, a senior in the 1993-94 CAT program, won a "Patent Award" in engineering from the U.S. Department of Commerce Patent and Trademark Office.

TEACHERS RECOGNIZED: Some Pinellas County teachers have been selected for the initial program of the Florida Center for Teachers. Those selected are:

Miriam Gregg, a guidance counselor for kindergarten through fifth-grade pupils at Melrose Elementary School in St. Petersburg.
