St. Petersburg 7, Dunedin 1: Jeremy McGarity and John Corona combined on a five-hitter as host St. Petersburg defeated Dunedin Monday night to win its ninth consecutive game. It is the longest winning streak for the Cards in three seasons. McGarity (6-3) shut down the Blue Jays' league-leading offense over eight innings. He had five strikeouts and was helped by the Cards' defense as they turned three double plays. Corona finished the ninth for McGarity by striking out the last two batters of the game. St. Petersburg supplied plenty of offensive punch for McGarity in the third inning behind Dimitri Young's two-run triple.
