Hickey in running for two jobs

Norman Hickey, the St. Petersburg city manager whose job was eliminated by voters earlier this year, is in the running for the job of chief administrative officer of Los Angeles County. Hickey is scheduled to interview with county officials there June 28, and Friday he will interview with Lee County officials for the county administrator job, he said. If Hickey gets the Los Angeles County job, he would preside over a county of 9-million residents and earn a salary of up to $173,123. A Los Angeles County spokeswoman said Tuesday she could not confirm the finalist list, saying it was not yet public record. However, she said "only the top five will be interviewed by the board and that will be done later this month."
