A 34-year-old Tampa woman waiting at a bus stop on N Nebraska Avenue was kidnapped and raped Monday night, according to a Tampa Police Department report. About 6:45 p.m. two men with guns pulled up in a car and forced the woman to get in, the report said. They drove back to her apartment, where one of the men raped her, the report said. The suspects then put the woman back in the car and stole her home entertainment system, the report said. They drove to the East Lake area of the county, where the same man raped her again. The two suspects have not been apprehended, police spokesman Scott Guffey said.
Man shot after knife self-defense fails
TAMPA _ A 62-year-old Tampa man was in fair condition at Tampa General Hospital after he was shot twice in the back when two teenagers tried to rob him Monday night. Willie Ed Blackshear of 2906 E Lindell Ave. was returning home from the store at 10:15 a.m. when two teenagers pulled up on their bicycles. According to the police report, they pulled out their guns and said, "Give it up. Give us all you got." Blackshear responded by pulling out a knife. After shooting him twice in the back, the two suspects fled. They have not been apprehended, Tampa police spokesman Scott Guffey said.
