Kenneth and Margaret Mason Butler of Clearwater celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a renewal of their wedding vows and a reception at the First Baptist Church of Largo.
The Butlers were married June 14, 1943, at the home of Judge John Brown in Clearwater. Butler was stationed with the Army Air Forces at the Belleview Biltmore (now the Belleview Mido Resort Hotel).
Butler worked for 37 years for Clearwater Laundry and Cleaners. Mrs. Butler retired from Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater.
They have three children and five grandchildren.
Elsie and Herschel Ruble of Clearwater celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception at the First Christian Church of Clearwater.
The Rubles were married June 6, 1943, at the Methodist Church in Van Buren, Ind. They lived for 10 years in Warren, Ind., and came to Clearwater in 1953. He is retired from the Milton Roy Co. of St. Petersburg and she is an organist at Moss-Feaster Funeral Homes and First Christian Church of Clearwater. They have a son and three grandchildren.
Robert and Mary Wyckoff of Clearwater celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a renewal of their wedding vows, a reception in the Fellowship Hall at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Clearwater and a dinner at East Lake Woodlands Country Club. Dr. Tom Gallaher officiated.
The Wyckoffs met at a Catholic tea dance for servicemen in Washington, D.C. He was in the Navy and she worked for the Navy Department.
Before retiring, he was a systems accountant for the U.S. General Accounting Office. The family lived in Paris, France, and Frankfurt, Germany, for five years, Mrs. Wyckoff said.
They had five children (three are living) and four grandchildren.
Chauncey Boyd and Dorothy Draper Gunther of Seminole celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a brunch at the Treasure Island Yacht Club.
Marge Norwine, maid of honor at their wedding, joined them for the anniversary celebration.
The Gunthers were married June 13, 1943, in St. Louis, Mo. They came to this area in 1952. They have two children and three grandchildren.
