Directors recalled; replacements sought

In a vote held June 7-8 by less than 40 percent of the more than 7,500 members of of the Sun City Center Community Association, Gene Batzer and Enid Uhrich were recalled as directors of the association.

Cornell Clark, current president of the association's board of directors, said a research committee is looking for two volunteers to complete the terms of Batzer and Uhrich, which expire in December 1993.

The vote for Batzer was 1,475 in favor of a recall and 1,293 against a recall. The vote for Uhrich was 1,718 in favor and 1,042 against.

"A research committee should have recommendations soon for temporary directors to fill the board vacancies," said Clark. "We will have a general election at the end of this year to fill five seats on the board. . . . Gene and Enid are eligible to run as long as they haven't served two consecutive terms. A break of two years between two consecutive terms is required."
