Chris Hammond won his fifth in a row as Florida won in Philadelphia to end a three-game losing streak. The Phillies lost their third in a row, their longest losing streak of the season. Hammond (7-4) struck out five and walked two over eight-plus innings before Bryan Harvey finished for his 20th save, extending his record for saves by an expansion team pitcher. The Marlins have won nine of Hammond's past 10 outings.

Braves: Outfielder Andre King, Atlanta's first selection in the amateur draft, signed. He will be assigned to Danville of the Rookie League after spending a week at the major league team's spring training base in West Palm Beach. King, 19, was the 66th player drafted. The Braves did not have a first-round selection. He hit .492 with five home runs, 13 RBI and 24 stolen bases during his senior season at Stranahan High School in Fort Lauderdale. King had signed a football scholarship with Michigan.
Phillies: Outfielder Wes Chamberlain was placed on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to June 16 with a pulled left hamstring. Outfielder Ruben Amaro was recalled from Class AAA Scranton-Wilkes-Barre.
Rockies: Walt Jocketty, director of baseball administration for the Oakland Athletics, reportedly has been offered the job of assistant general manager.
