Notes: Both Street Stocks and Mini Stocks will have the chance to show their stuff as they dodge and weave through traffic at the Figure 8 intersection. Figure 8 racing becomes exciting after three-to-five laps, when the cars begin to spread out and the leaders start meeting the slower cars a half-lap down. There is plenty of bumping and banging on the turns, but the really big thrills will be at the intersection. There are probably at least 10 favorites in each class, so just pick a favorite and pray, which is what most of the drivers will be doing. Dads will get a special gift at the gate tonight from the Girl's Racing Association. In two weeks, the most popular show of the season _ the School Bus Demolition Derby _ will be held. This morning at 9, the Pinellas County School Board will auction off 32 school buses at 5925 150th Ave. N. To qualify for the derby, the buses must have front engines and a capacity of 40-70 passengers before being stripped.
