West Pasco made the final four in the seniors (13-15 years old) District 12 tournament at Engelbert Field in Dunedin.
But an 8-0 loss to Dunedin American on Thursday night ended West Pasco's belated charge at the title.
West Pasco won a pair of games to open the tournament, but was bumped into the losers' bracket Tuesday by eventual winners' bracket finalist Clearwater National.
West Pasco, in need of five straight wins to take the title, kept its slim hopes alive with a 10-5 win over Countryside on Wednesday night before exiting Thursday.
Dunedin American and Dunedin National were scheduled to play in a winner-take-all championship game Saturday.
The District 12 majors (10-12 years old) and senior softball tournaments both came to a close Friday night.
Countryside prevailed in the major division, while West Pinellas took home the top trophy in the senior class.

During the streak, West Pasco claimed 15-3, 18-2 and 14-2 wins over Safety Harbor, Largo American and Palm Harbor National, respectively.
In the District 4 all-star baseball tournament for youths 9-10 years old, Dade City kept its championship hopes alive with a 10-2 win over Plant City on Monday night in Thonotosassa.
The win set up a rematch for the tournament championship the following night, but in that contest, Dade City came up short 12-8.
The opening rounds of the tournament were played at two different sites. Dade City was the winners' bracket survivor in Thonotosassa and Plant City emerged as the winners' bracket finalist in Polk City.
Plant City won the first meeting between the two teams with a 2-0 decision June 12. In that contest, the only scoring came in Plant City's half of the first inning.
Dade City beat Lakeland Orange the following day to force a second meeting with Plant City.
The District 4 major, junior and senior all-star tournaments in both baseball and softball will begin July 3 at several sites.
In baseball, the junior division for 13-year-olds will play in Zephyrhills. The major division for players ages 11 and 12 will be split into two regions _ east and west. Zephyrhills will host the west bracket and Wauchula will host the east bracket, as well as the finals. The senior division will be in Lake Wales.

In District 13 junior (13 years old) baseball play, Land O'Lakes won the tournament with a 8-4 win over Lutz on Tuesday night in Seffner.
Land O'Lakes won four straight games to claim the title.
