A motorcycle rider was killed Saturday evening when he hit a vehicle that pulled out in front of him from a side street, the Florida Highway Patrol said. A passenger on the motorcycle also was injured. The identity of the rider, his passenger and the car's driver are being withheld pending notification of relatives. The rider was heading north on Dunkenfield Avenue about 7:10 p.m. when a car heading east on Avocado Street turned onto Dunkenfield in his path. The motorcycle struck the front of the car. The rider was taken to Seven Rivers Community Hospital, the patrol said. The passenger was taken to Shands Hospital in Gainesville. The driver of the car was not injured.
