River Ridge graduate to attend Annapolis

Michael Darcy, 18, son of Lena and Michael Darcy of New Port Richey, will be inducted into the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., on July 1.

He received a nomination to the Academy from Rep. Michael Bilirakis, R-Palm Harbor. Of the 12,000 applicants and nominees only 1,200 receive appointments. Darcy plans to study engineering and nuclear propulsion. He also received appointments to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, N.Y.

Darcy is a June graduate of River Ridge High School in New Port Richey.

Heidi Margaret Dreher:

bachelor of science

HOLIDAY _ Heidi Margaret Dreher, daughter of Jim and Suzan Dreher of Holiday, is a recent graduate of the University of Florida in Gainesville.

She received a bachelor of science degree in public relations from the College of Journalism and Communications. She was on the dean's list.

Miss Dreher is a 1988 graduate of Gulf High School.

Robert J. Martin:

doctor of ministry

SAINT LEO _ Robert J. Martin, director of advising and student support services for Saint Leo College, Center for Distance Learning, was recently awarded a doctor of ministry degree from the University of the South's Episcopal Seminary School of Theology in Tennessee.

Martin has been an administrator and adjunct professor at Saint Leo College since 1980.
