Rodriguez ends victory drought

Chi Chi Rodriguez, winner of only one tournament the past two seasons, shot 7-under-par 65 Sunday to win the inaugural Burnet Senior Classic by two strokes over Bob Murphy and Jim Colbert.

Rodriguez birdied four consecutive holes _ 8 through 11 _ to take the lead at the Bunker Hills Golf Course.

He parred the next six holes before wrapping up his only title of 1993 with a birdie on 18 to finish at 15-under 201. He last won at the Ko Olina Senior Invitational in Hawaii in November, his only victory of 1992 _ the first time in eight years he failed to win at least two tournaments. He has 22 seniors titles, tied for second with Don January behind Miller Barber's 24.
