Election complaint continues

An appeals court has turned down the city of St. Petersburg's request to throw out a complaint by two men who have challenged the March 23 election. The 2nd District Court of Appeal in Lakeland has denied two legal motions filed by the city and Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Dorothy Ruggles, according to a ruling filed Monday. Assistant City Attorney Mirella James said Monday she could not comment on the decision because she had not seen it yet. Joseph Miele and William Scanlan have alleged that fraudulent ballots were cast and tainted computer software was used in the St. Petersburg city election.
