Radio station 95-YNF, in cooperation with Tampa Bay area community blood banks, is hosting its sixth annual pre-Fourth of July blood drive from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Pinellas, Hillsborough and Pasco Split Second stores.
In Hillsborough, a mobile donor coach from Florida Blood Services will be at the Split Second at 11302 N Dale Mabry Highway in Carrollwood.
Donor gifts include a 95-YNF Blood Drive tank top, a pair of sunglasses from Split Second, a 16-ounce fountain drink and a surprise gift.
Donors must be older than 17 and weigh at least 100 pounds. Photo identification is requested.
The annual blood drive began in 1988 and has yielded 1,687 pints of blood. The goal this year is to collect 450 pints of blood to help bay area patients during the long Fourth of July weekend.
Florida Blood Services is a non-profit partnership of Community Regional Blood Center, Hunter Blood Center and the Southwest Florida Blood Bank. The organization provides for the blood needs of patients at 38 hospitals in the bay area.
