Bank forecloses on building

William J. Grant likened it to the feeling you get when you stop hitting your head against a wall. This week, Barnett Bank foreclosed on the so-called NCNB Building that Grant has been struggling to fill with tenants for more than a decade. "I've been trying for 11 years," Grant said Tuesday of the building at 501 First Ave. N. "It's been very disappointing." Grant's company, Graco Properties Ltd., tried for several years to sell the remodeled yellow-brick building. It also lobbied the city of St. Petersburg and Pinellas County to move government offices to the 10-story building, which is across the street from the St. Petersburg City Hall.

Correction

Patrick Lewis was the little boy learning to swim in photos that ran in Tuesday's City Times. His last name was incorrect in a photo caption.
