Convenience store rejected

County commissioners stood firm in their compromise offer to Claire Ten Hoeve, and the Keystone Road property owner won't be able to develop her land as a convenience store or gas station. Commissioners said Tuesday they will downzone Ten Hoeve's property, at Keystone and Old East Lake roads, from a designation allowing commercial development to one allowing professional offices, such as lawyers' or doctors' offices. Ten Hoeve's property had been zoned commercial since 1953, but commissioners said times change and a convenience store would be out of place in that neighborhood.
