Dunedin rolls to 11-4 victory

Dunedin 11, Charlotte 4: Designated hitter Matt Johnson hit a solo homer in the second inning and the host Blue Jays finished with 18 hits in blasting the Rangers. Dunedin scored in each inning except the third and eighth. Johnson reached base on all four plate appearances and scored three runs. Outfielder Rich Butler rebounded from Monday's four-strikeout performance by going 4-for-5 with three singles and a double. Ricardo Jordan (2-0) got the victory in relief.


St. Lucie 8, Clearwater 2: Second baseman Edgardo Alfonzo and outfielder Tim McClinton homered to power the host Mets past the Phillies. Alfonzo drove in four runs with a three-run homer and an infield out, supporting Todd Fiegel's six-hit pitching. Catcher Jason Moler had three hits and drove in both Phillies runs.


Cardinals rained out: The Cardinals-Tigers game in Lakeland was rained out. The teams will play a doubleheader today.
