An 18-year-old woman was jailed Tuesday and charged with setting fire to a mobile home two weeks ago.
Mary Ann Sanders, of 385 Union St., Apartment 14, in Brooksville was charged with arson, arson resulting in injury to a firefighter and two counts of trying to defraud an insurance company.
She is accused of setting a fire June 8 that caused $15,000 in damage to a mobile home at 4471 Orlando Ave., southwest of Brooksville.
The home belonged to David Trimble, jail records show. It was unclear Tuesday evening how Sanders might have benefited from the fire.
Arson investigators from the Hernando County Sheriff's Office could not be reached for comment.
Since the day after the fire, they had said that they suspected arson. No arrests were made until Tuesday.
The insurer named in jail records was American Banker's Insurance Co.
The nighttime fire was extinguished within a half-hour, but one of the firefighters sustained minor burns to his face and ear.
Sanders was arrested Tuesday morning and booked at Hernando County Jail. Bail was set at $30,000.
Her arrest marked the second arson arrest in five days for the Sheriff's Office.
Last week, a Ridge Manor man was accused of setting fire to his own home June 1 to collect insurance money.
