Agency sold

Re/Max Bayway Islands Realty in Tierra Verde has been purchased by Ron and Libby Salamone. The previous owners, Jerry Wendel and David Dafnis, will remain with the company. The office is at 18 Madonna Blvd.

Pool awards

Curtis Pools of Largo has won two Silver Awards in the 1993 competition sponsored by the National Spa & Pool Institute. In the category of residential pools under 600 square feet, Curtis won for a pool with a heated spa and blue glass wall spa overflow feature. The deck is made from quarried Italian limestone. The other award was for a residential interior pool with a swim-through passage to the outside pool.

Winners were chosen from 600 entrants in 39 categories.

Model opens

Hannah-Bartoletta Homes has completed its 3,625-square-foot Damaras III model in Osprey Pointe at Hunter's Green. It has four bedrooms and a study, 3{ baths, a three-car garage and a pool. The base price is $233,800, not including homesite. There is a security-intercom-telecommunications system and a home theater with Surround Sound. The model is open Mondays-Saturdays 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sundays noon-6 p.m. To reach Hunter's Green, take I-275 north to Bearss Avenue and go east to Bruce B. Workshop today

A free workshop on how to buy a home will be todayat 9:30 a.m., conducted by Nancy Burridge of Re/Max Mutual Realty. The workshop will be in a vacant office suite at 29265 U.S. 19 N in Northside Square plaza, just south of Curlew Road, Clearwater. The suite is between Felice's Pork Store and the office of Pinellas County Property Appraiser Jim Smith. Representatives of Source One Mortgage, State Farm Insurance, Building Inspection Services, American Home Shield Warranty, Westfield Homes, and Pioneer Title will discuss various aspects of the buying process. A free housing fair will be today 9 a.m.-noon at the University Community Baptist Church, 2121 131st Ave. E, Tampa. Real estate agents, lenders and credit counselors will present discussions of whether to rent or buy, how to clean up a credit report and how to qualify for a loan. Participants will be able to visit open houses priced below $75,000.
