Musicale to sing in New Port Richey

The Thursday Musicale will celebrate the joy of music in our lives with a presentation of secular and spiritual selections at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, 6661 Circle Blvd., New Port Richey.

Four local high school seniors who are music scholarship recipients of the Thursday Musicale will perform special selections.

The award winners are Jeanette Assalt of Anchor Academy in Palm Harbor, opera singer; Jason Nusbaum, River Ridge High School student, baritone; Sibrina Russell of Hudson High School, soprano; and Steven Leeper of Ridgewood High School, trumpeter.

Through donations accepted at concerts from October through April, the group is able to help support young people.

The Thursday Musicale Women's Chorus, consisting of 50 women singing three- or four-part harmony, is directed by Dolores Long of New Port Richey and accompanied by Sue Bond of Hudson.

Herb Lovell is in charge of sound and lights, and Helen Hill will staff the lobby information desk.

Organizations wishing to make reservations for 10 or more should call William Von Busch at (813) 847-2561.
